

NWSC in water shutdown today to clean Nakasero Reservoir
The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation wishes to inform its esteemed customers and the general public that there will be a disruption in water supply on Wednesday 19th July, 2017 from 8am to 6pm.
This is to allow for routine cleaning and maintenance of Nakasero-Gunhill reservoir.
Areas to be affected include, Kampala City Centre, Katwe, Kisenyi, Mengo, Namirembe Road, parts of Bugolobi, Kataza, parts of Luthuli, Mbuya Hill, Lugogo bypass, parts of Kololo, Kati-Kati, Bwaise, Kawempe-Tuula, Nabweru, Kazo, Lugooba, Katooke, parts of Maganjo, Jinja-Karoli, Jinja-Kawempe, Kanyanya, Kasangati, Gayaza, Kyebando, Komamboga, Kyanja, Nangabo, Luteete, Masooli and Najjera-Buwaate.
The following areas will experience low water pressure situations during the works:
Naguru, Ntinda, Kisaasi, Kigowa, Kiwatule, Naalya, Kulambiro and the surrounding areas.
Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly as it takes time for the network to build up after the planned shutdown. All inconveniences are highly regretted.

Meanwhile NWSC staff yesterday unearthed illegal water connections at various arcades in Kampala-Kisenyi. The owners too were arrested.
“Customers who steal water deny many deserving customers a right to safe clean water. Blow the whistle today and report all suspected illegal water practices in your area,” NWSC warned.
Ongoing works on a project to boost water supply in Arua town and the surrounding villages are proceeding on well. Dott Services, the contractor is on the schedule and works are set to be completed soon.
