Hajji Muyanja Mbabaali has dismissed rumours circulating around that he is not going to contest for the forth coming elections as Member of Parliament for Bukoto South constituency because of ‘inadequate’ education papers. “The rumours are baseless, lack facts and he assured his people of Bukoto South that he has academic documents to enable him contest for the seat next year,” he said. He said this on Wednesday at his office at Kampala Serena Conference Centre. Mbabaali is set to contest for the Member of Parliament of Bukoto South Constituency in Lwengo district in 2016.Hajji Muyanja Mbabaali addressing press at his office on Wednesday
Mr. Muyanja Mbabaali said he did a mature entry exams at Makerere University and passed very well, in fact he was the third best student in the country. He was awarded a Certificate of Recognition of Mature
Age Entry and admitted to Bachelors of Arts (Social Sciences) on 14th December 2013 at Makerere University.
The Mature Age Entry Scheme: Under this scheme a candidate must sit and pass the University Mature Age Entry examination. To be eligible for the examination, the candidate MUST be at least 25 years old before 1st August of the year in which admission is sought. No candidate who has previously attended a programme at this University shall be re-admitted to the university under this scheme to a programme of study in which he/she failed to qualify during his or her previous attendance.
From there, he once again continued his education exploits by doing a diploma in Information Science and Technology at Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) in Fort Portal for one year. So all those saying you can’t do a diploma in one year, should consult with the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).Mbabaali’s Mature Entry examination certificate
Before all the above, Mbabaali sat for his A’Level at Nsambya Youth Sharing hall and passed very well attaining Uganda Advance Certificate of Education (UACE). With education papers, I am very sure and set because I did all that was required to address the education issue that affected me last time. If you have doubts; seek clarification from Makerere University (Mak), Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU), National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), National Electoral Commission and NRM ELectoral Commission. Therefore, those threatening to challenge my papers in court can go ahead but it will be a waste of their time which they can instead put to a good use by doing some other constructive things that would help them.
Under the constitution of the Republic of Uganda, anybody with S.6 or its equivalent is eligible to stand for the Member of Parliament or as the president, therefore this means Muyanja Mbabaali is eligible to stand.
Why The Continued Quest For The MP Seat?
“My aim to stand for the MP seat is to work for my people and nothing else. This is a retirement package I have for my people which I want to give them. I want to make sure that they get out of poverty and become self sustainable, with that achieved, I will have gotten myself a rightful retirement package”,
