UNRA to carryout Spot Improvement at Kazinga along Kampala – Jinja Highway on Friday
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) will this Friday carryout spot improvement at Kazinga along Kampala-Jinja Highway. According to a statement released by the road’s authority, the Friday works will halt flow along Uganda’s busiest Highway. Here is the statement;
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) wishes to inform the general public of scheduled heavy works at Kazinga, a section adjacent to Darling factory and Crestank Ltd (between Namanve and Bweyogerere) which will include culvert installation and surface improvement on Friday, 9th June 2017.
Works will involve cutting across the entire width of the road which may cause delays and inconvenience to the flow of traffic.
Traffic will be limited to one lane at a time for only light vehicles (not exceeding 5 tonnes) while medium and heavy vehicles are advised to use the following alternatives:
Traffic coming from Jinja to Kampala will turn left immediately after the Coca-Cola plant through the Namanve Industrial park to Namboole – Jokas Hotel and proceed to Kampala OR Use Seeta – Namugongo to Kireka/Northern Bypass.
Traffic from Kampala to Jinja will turn right at Jokas Hotel Namboole through the Namanve Industrial Park to the Coca – Cola plant OR Use the Seeta – Namugongo to Kireka/Northern Bypass.
Works are expected to be completed and the route restored to traffic by evening of Friday, 9th June 2017.
