The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development who also doubles as Kibale East County MP in Kamwenge district, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, has described the letter circulating purportedly from the office of the Prime Minister in Rwanda as totally fake fabrication aimed at tarnishing his name.
The letter alleges that the minister and OBs contributed $600,000 towards COVID-19 fight in Rwanda while Hon. David Bahati over $1050,000.
He described the rumours as total lies aimed at tarnishing his name and reputation.
The minister told this website that those malcious schemes against him started in 2012 after he was appointed cabinet minister. He said to him, they aren’t knew and added that their vendors and sponsors are known.
“I have chosen to ignore them and focus on my work. The God who appointed me into leadership will surely defeat them. I however, demand that the security and intelligence agencies of this country help us to act on these criminal networks. Trying to soil our names isn’t a big deal, but may be the next step will be to target our lives,” Frank Tumwebaze said.
He called on security agencies to act quickly and take action and establish the motive of the fabrications.
”These fake fabrications are being vended around through various social media platforms. I always ignore such and many of the kind BUT for the sake of friends and followers just know these are fake. Their vendors and sponsors are known and have been at it for a long time. I hope our security and intelligence services who have the details will act on them and also establish the motive. Otherwise #StaySafeUG,” Hon. Frank Tumwebaze tweeted.
