The Senior Management Committee of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has assessed major petroleum, industrial and agricultural projects in the Albertine Graben, with a focus on investment, infrastructure development, environmental protection and local economic empowerment.

The two-day assessment was led by OWC Deputy Chief Coordinator Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi, who urged investors to adhere to project timelines and ensure accountability in the use of government resources.

The delegation visited the Tilenga oil project in Buliisa District, operated by TotalEnergies, and the Kingfisher Oil Field in Kikuube District, operated by CNOOC.

At the Kingfisher Central Processing Facility, the committee was briefed on drilling operations, crude oil processing, waste management and measures to mitigate environmental risks.

Officials also briefed the delegation on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).
