NWSC to install 4000 prepaid meters in Kampala

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is set to install over 4000 prepaid meters in the urban poor areas of Kampala under its Urban Poor Branch.

This was revealed by the NWSC MD Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha during the inspection of water and Sanitation facilities in the City with the Kawempe RCC Deborah Nabukenya, Kampala water GM Eng Andrew Sekayizzi and local leaders.

Some of the installations visited included NWSC Prepaid Water meters that enable the urban poor buy water at the official price of shs38 per 20 litre jerrycan.

The Corporation will also establish a Sanitation Liaison Unit to strengthen the partnership with city authorities and other water and Sanitation sector players in a bid to improve the lives of our people.

In February last year, NWSC commissioned over 100 modern Sanitation facilities (toilets). This is in addition to other Sanitation facilities the Corporation has built to improve the lives of our people under the Urban poor branch.

NWSC is surely delivering to the expectations as they seek to make water available to every Ugandan.
