Kyenjojo residents welcome NWSC
Residents of Kyenjojo town are excited and joyful after their town became the latest new baby on board as National Water and Sewerage Corporation took over the town. The takeover will see the town start using safe and clean piped water provided by the water body.
“New Baby On Board, Welcome to the big water family Kyenjojo town. Sunset over Kyenjojo town captured from our reservoir. Plans are already underway to improve water supply reliability in the area,” NWSC posted.
Meanwhile National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is set to get water from the Mt. Rwenzori.
“We are getting water from Mt. Rwenzori to serve Mugusu town in Kabarole district. Mugusu is one of the new towns that have been taken over by NWSC. Our engineers are already on ground working on various interventions to serve our people better,”NWSC.
In related development, after NWSC’s takeover of operation of Pallisa town water supply, the Corporation embarked on an operation to refurbish and revamp the water supply system that had been defunct for over 5 years.
It has refurbished 1 borehole of 10,000 liters of water per hour that is able to supply water for 3 hours hence a total production of 110,000 liters of water per day.
On Monday, the corporation completed the drilling of 3 extra boreholes that will approximately raise the production to 31,700 liters of water per hour with capacity to supply at least 8 hours per day. This will be maintained until mid next year when NWSC expect to have the 6 million liters of water per day by water treatment plant operational.
