The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has said the late Gen. Elly Tumwiine left a lasting legacy as a freedom fighter and patriot. He hailed the family for keeping his legacy and vision alive.
The Deputy Speaker said this while attending the fundraising ceremony at Mukuru Church of Uganda in Kazo yesterday at the invitation of Mrs Jolly Tumwine, Hon. Dan Kimosho, MP for Kazo Constituency, and Hon. Jennifer Muheesi Kazo District Woman MP.

The church project was initiated and designed by Gen. Elly Tumwiine, who sadly passed away before he could realise this dream of constructing it.

This event was a demonstration of the commitment to bringing the project to completion and fulfilling Gen’s vision.

“Gen. Tumwiine left a lasting legacy as a freedom fighter and patriot. He contributed tremendously to the country’s legislative agenda. I’m glad to see that family and friends are keeping his vision and legacy alive. Continue resting in eternal peace Gen,” Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said.
