Why Uganda Cranes All stars team was locked out at Namboole stadium

Soccer fans and journalists were treated to free drama when egocentric former Uganda cranes players led by David Obua refused to come out of their team bus to be checked at the main gate of the stadium.

Security at the stadium was tight and was on high alert with the Special Forces being the lead agency. Everybody including Ministers, MPs and security officers, who were accredited on that day, had to be checked.

As the Former Uganda Cranes players sat in the team bus abusing security officers the bus carrying the Barcelona legends approached the same gate with a police lead car and a Special Forces escort car (Barcelona legends were state guests).

The Barcelona legends were asked to come out and be checked and they politely obliged. Remember all of them are former class players. The Uganda players, who thought they were special couldn’t believe what was happening right in front of them.

They totally lost face and accepted to be checked later. No wonder, pride cost many talented Ugandan players big time. Please remember that well trained security operatives don’t trust anyone when on duty. Always respect officers.
