West Ankole Diocese seeks for Shs 426m for the new bishop consecration

West Ankole Diocese is seeking for Shs 426m for Consecration function of the new bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Rev. Canon Johnson Twinomujuni.

The Rev. Canon Johnson Twinomujuni was last month elected the 4^th Bishop of West Ankole Diocese. He will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop on 28^th May 2017 at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi, Bushenyi. He will succeed the Most. Rev. Stanley Ntagali, who has been the Acting Bishop of the Diocese since the Rt. Rev. Yonah Katonene retired in October 2016.

The function will be presided over by The Most. Rev. Stanley Ntangali with HE President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expected to be the Chief Guest.

An 8 member committee has been formed to mobilise for the funds and Organise the function. The committee is headed by Bushenyi Woman MP who also doubles as the Minister in charge of General Duties in the office the Prime Minister, Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut and Prof. Ephrahim Kamuntu who also doubles as Sheema South County MP and Minister of Tourism, Wild Life and Antiquities. Other members on the committee are; Robert Korutaro Treasurer, Yese Mubangizi secretary and Coordinators are Winston Katushabe Bashaasha, Philip Murwani, Mesach Katusiime and Mesach Nuwabiine Bagarukayo.

Preparatory meetings are ongoing at Hotel Africana and the remaining meetings are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 16th May and Tuesday 23rd May.
