Outgoing Minister of State for Finance Hon Fred Omach is currently in Jakarta Indonesia where he is representing Uganda at the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Member Country of which Uganda is a member since 1974.
Islamic Development Bank has supported Uganda under its Member Country Partnership Strategy with over USD 300 million during the period 2011 to 2015.
This year’s annual meeting was held in Jakarta, Indonesia and next year’s will be held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At the next meeting in Saudi Arabia, Uganda will be the vice -chairman of the General Assembly for the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) which is the private arm of the bank. This is was at IDB Annual meeting of the Board of Governors of which Uganda is a MEMBER.
