

Top South African fashion designer David Tlale to speak at fashionpreneur summit ahead of 2018 ASFAs
Fashion enthusiasts have a chance to learn from one of Africa’s finest as Uganda’s biggest red carpet event; Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards (ASFAs) welcomes David Tlale as the keynote speaker at its fashionpreneur summit and nomination cocktail on October 27.
The organisers confirmed that the Ciroc-sponsored summit will feature the accomplished South African fashion designer David Tlale, who will be speaking about the perks of the industry and what one needs to do to make it big in the fashion world.
The event which will take place at Skyz Hotel Naguru ahead of the ASFAs in December is part of the build-up to the awards sixth edition. The main objective for the summit is to use its influence to shine a light on the immense possibilities the fashion industry has to offer in terms of transforming livelihoods and the country’s economy.
Organised under the theme “Fashion is power”, the summit will focus on inspiring action and fueling creative fires spanning the fashion industry and how it relates not only to the economic opportunity for youth but also economic growth. It is also meant to empower and inspire those in the fashion business as well as equip aspiring fashionpreneurs with the required skills to break out big in the industry.
“This summit is an opportunity for us to be part of something different that is going to inspire future fashion moguls and entrepreneurs to do better and grow the industry. As the ultimate celebration drink, we are thrilled as Ciroc for once again being a part of the ASFAs. At the summit, Tlale, a fashion designer who has made it big in the industry with works showcased in South Africa and on some of the hottest runways like at the Paris Fashion Week and the New York Fashion Week among others, will speak alongside celebrated radio presenter and news anchor Flavia Tumsiime, fashion designer Santa Anzo, make-up guru Mona Umutoni of MonaFaces and last but not least Bernard Mukasa who is a senior associate at ENS Africa and a specialist in corporate commercial law, intellectual property and employment law.

The event will run from 2pm to 5pm and will wind up with a nominees unveiling cocktail engagement starting at 6pm until late. In addition to the events nominees, sponsors shall also be unveiled.
