Recently, the Permanent Secretary (PS) Ms Aminah Zawedde had an engagement with the British High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Lisa Chesney, and the High Commissioner of Uganda to the United Kingdom, H.E. Nimisha Jayant Madhvani, during the signing of the MoU between the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Spotlight on Africa–Uganda Foundation and Algorithmic Partners.

Ms Aminah Zawedde said this partnership moves the country’s digital transformation agenda from commitment to implementation , expanding access to services, strengthening trust in digital systems and ensuring inclusion across communities.

Key interventions include establishing a regional innovation hub in Mbale, introducing secure digital certification to reduce document fraud, and extending digital public services to underserved areas.

“We are also reinforcing digital skilling to connect young people and entrepreneurs to real opportunities within the digital economy. Through collaboration with our partners, we continue to build a transparent, inclusive and skills-driven digital ecosystem that delivers practical value to citizens,” Aminah Zawedde added.
