Uganda’s leading musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool while working closely with Uganda Police and Judiciary has this afternoon secured the release of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems from Kitalya Prison.
Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay and Temilade Openyi aka Tems along with Tems manager Muyiwa Awomiyi together with other 4 Ugandans were charged with flouting COVID-19 SOPs after they participated in an illegal concert at Ddungu Resort Munyonyo.
Bebe Cool used his celebrity status to struck a diplomatic solution to release the two singers and their co-accused.
The singer has received praise from Nigerian counterparts with top singer Davido tweeting “One Africa” after learning of the release news.
“We got our brothers and sister out! #OmahLay #Tems #OneAfrica,” Bebe Cool said after their release.
