  • Unruly Fridays Launches with Nigerian Hitmaker Orezi at Catwalk Lounge

    Nigerian heavyweight artiste Orezi (born Esegine Allen) has arrived in the country to grace a night that is set to take Kampala life by storm, Unruly Fridays presented to Ugandan partygoers by Catwalk Lounge in Kololo.

    Unruly Fridays counting down 100 bottles sponsored by Belaire, is launching on Friday (April 11th) at Catwalk Lounge in Kololo, Kampala. The night will be hosted by Urban Empire whose DJ lineup will include DJ Jose, DJ TrizzyVybz, The Last Girl and DJ Lito. To bring a full dose of hype at the show will be MC Cute and MC Casmir.

    Orezi, 39, is renowned in the West African music circles for his energetic performances and captivating tunes, that always get his audiences dancing sweaty. He is a Nigerian musician from Owhelogbo, Isoko in Delta State who rose to prominence with his catchy hit “Rihanna” in 2013. And since then, he has not stopped making big waves in Nigeria’s fiercely competitive music industry.

    Orezi started his music career in 2009, but it was in 2013 that he rose to prominence with the release of “Rihanna”, a song that quickly became a massive hit. The infectious tune and its appealingvideo that featured a Rihanna-look-alike, earned him widespread recognitionn across Africa.

    Following the success of “Rihanna,” Orezi kept the momentum going with tracks like “You Garrit”, “Shoki” (French version), and the 2015 release of his debut album, The Ghen Ghen Album. The album featured heavyweights like Davido, Wizkid, Ice Prince, and Timaya, among others, cementing his place as a force in the Nigerian music industry. Orezi has also collaborated with Ugandan superstar Sheebah Karungi on the popular dancefloor staple “Sweet Sensation.”

    His sound is a unique blend of Afro-pop, Dancehall, and Reggae, and he has worked with top producers such as Kiddominant, Del B, and Dokta Frabz. Over the years, his tracks have consistently topped music charts, with hit songs like “Booty Bounce” and “Ogede” becoming fan favourites.

    Awards and Recognition

    Orezi’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2013, he won Best Reggae Dancehall Artiste at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA), and also took home awards at the South South Music Awards (SSMA). He’s been nominated for multiple accolades, including The Headies and the Channel O Music Video Awards, further showcasing his impact on the music scene.

    Superstar Davido releases his fourth studio Album ‘Timeless’

    On Friday, Nigerian international superstar Davido released highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘TIMELESS’ via Columbia Records.

    ‘TIMELESS’ sees Davido bring together the sounds that have shaped his 11-year career so far. While homing in on his Afrobeats foundations with tracks such as “Feel”, “Godfather” and “Precision”; childhood influences of R&B and Rap can be heard across “In The Garden Ft. Morravey”, “Bop Ft. Dexta Daps” and “U (Juju) Ft. Skepta”; and with nods to Amapiano on “Unavailable Ft. Musa Keys” and hit single “Champion Sound Ft. Focalistic”. Other features across the 17-track project include Angelique Kidjo, Asake, The Cavemen and Logos Olori.

    For the Platinum selling, multi-award-winning star ‘TIMELESS’ is his first studio release since his critically acclaimed 2020 project ‘A Better Time’. Meanwhile, Davido has continued to deliver hit singles.

    2021 saw star collaborations including his remix of Focalistic’s breakthrough Amapiano single “Ke Star”, as well as Afrobeat anthem “High” with Adekunle Gold. 2022 was an even more momentous year with singles “WATAWI”, “Electricity” “Stand Strong (9+)” and Davido’s feature across the lead single from the FIFA Official World Cup Soundtrack, “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)”, which he performed at the closing ceremony.

    Davido describes ‘TIMELESS’ as: “Timeless is a body of work that goes beyond fashion and trends it’s an authentic body of work that remains true to my core as an artist- using my music to bring joy to my fans across the world. The songs you hear today will be just as relevant tomorrow, that’s why it’s TIMELESS.”

    Last week Davido also announced, ‘A Timeless Night With Davido,’ a one off show in London’s iconic venue KOKO on the 5th April. This intimate and special event will be a chance for fans to see Davido like they never have before. Performing with The Composerz this will be fans first chance to see Davido perform tracks from his ‘Timeless’ album live. Alongside this London show Davido has also announced a homecoming event in Lagos.

    Nairobi, Kenya. Multi award winning superstar Davido has been trending in Africa of recent after a long hiatus off social media following the loss of his son late last year. 
    Fans from across the world trooped to the social media platforms to share some of the most prolific moments of the star.
    The star who performed at the world cup closing ceremony last year is gearing up to the release of his album next month.
    In his true spirit of giving, Davido gifted 1million naira to a tricycle driver in Nigeria who plastered the singer’s pictures all over his tricycle to show his love and admiration. The video of the tricycle had gone viral after being shared by Tunde Ednut.
    Davido has always been involved with a lot of charity works including funding orphanages and also helping creatives achieve their dreams. This is evident with most of his collaborations. He has used his influence to catapult a lot of talents to the top.
    Davido is set to drop his much anticipated album early next month.

    Nairobi; Nigerian sensational artiste B-Red has released, a new single which he titled ‘Lady.’
    The record features sultry vocals from Mama Africa herself, Yemi Alade.
    Lady by B Red was produced by Teekay Witty and released in September, and Stanz directed the visual which was released on the 15th of October.
    Lady is a follow-up B-Red’s last single titled ‘Lekki Roundabout‘, and it comes with a lovely jam lover would indeed find interesting.
    Adebayo Adeleke, better known by his stage name B-Red, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was featured on two tracks from Davido’s debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo. He is Sina Rambo’s sibling and a cousin to Davido.
    B Red and Davido have been together right from their days at HKN before they move on to start DMW.

    Award-winning Nigerian talent TENI THE ENTERTAINER has joined forces with Afrobeats star Davido on new single “For You”, out today (12th February 2021).

    “For You” is an emotion-tinged slice of Afrobeats, seeing TENI and Davido trade pitch-perfect vocals amongst poignant acoustic production. The similarly touching official video sees TENI stuck behind bars before her best friend Davido breaks her out – but not without consequences.


    Teni says, “For You is a record I made to celebrate the essence of love, sacrifice and the reaffirmation to always be there for that special someone who means the world to you,” explaining, “Always wanted to make a record like this with Davido especially because of my admiration for him as an artist, father and someone with a big heart.”

    Uganda’s leading musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool while working closely with Uganda Police and Judiciary has this afternoon secured the release of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems from Kitalya Prison.


    Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay and Temilade Openyi aka Tems along with Tems manager Muyiwa Awomiyi together with other 4 Ugandans were charged with flouting COVID-19 SOPs after they participated in an illegal concert at Ddungu Resort Munyonyo.

    Bebe Cool used his celebrity status to struck a diplomatic solution to release the two singers and their co-accused.

    The singer has received praise from Nigerian counterparts with top singer Davido tweeting “One Africa” after learning of the release news.

    “We got our brothers and sister out! #OmahLay #Tems #OneAfrica,” Bebe Cool said after their release.

    Celebrated Nigerian sensation and award winning star Davido shut down Nairobi last Saturday at the 30 Billion Concert at Uhuru Gardens.  Backed by his band Davido wowed the crowd with his energetic performance on the stage for more than 3 hours belting hit after hit from – Dami Duro, Ekuro, Fall, If, FIA , Assurance among others.

    The revelers who trooped in from as early as 6pm were treated to an unforgettable night of music and dance  from  Kenya’s superstars  P-Unit and Kansoul who wowed the audience with blast from the past and their latest hits. On the decks were DJ Ace King and DJ Seme.

    Davido who celebrated his 26th birthday on Friday with his friends and family jetted into the country on Saturday evening ahead of the concert accompanied by his girlfriend Chioma aka Assurance, his manager and his band members.

    He surprised his fans by bringing the love of his life Chioma on Stage as he performed his popular hit Assurance.  The 30 billion hit maker also declared his love for Nairobi and his fans who came out in large numbers to have fun and dance to his music.

    The duo of Amina and Jalango, the MCs of the night kept the revelers entertained throughout the evening until the wee hours of the morning.
