One Africa; Bebe Cool secures release of Nigerian singers
Uganda’s leading musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool while working closely with Uganda Police and Judiciary has this afternoon secured the release of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems from Kitalya Prison.

Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay and Temilade Openyi aka Tems along with Tems manager Muyiwa Awomiyi together with other 4 Ugandans were charged with flouting COVID-19 SOPs after they participated in an illegal concert at Ddungu Resort Munyonyo.Bebe Cool used his celebrity status to struck a diplomatic solution to release the two singers and their co-accused.

The singer has received praise from Nigerian counterparts with top singer Davido tweeting “One Africa” after learning of the release news.
“We got our brothers and sister out! #OmahLay #Tems #OneAfrica,” Bebe Cool said after their release.

Two Nigerian singers accused of flouting COVID-19 SOPs released
Two Nigerian artists who were yesterday charged with flouting COVID-19 SOPs have been released.
Omah Lay and Tems and 5 others were sent on remand in Kitalya prison yesterday but with the help of Singer Bebe Cool, the duo is free.

According to the release shit we saw, the state has withdrawn charges against the singers.

Cindy insists that Omah Lay shouldn’t have performed, endangering Ugandans with Coronavirus
Diva Cindy Sanyu aka Cinderella has said no one has the right to come and encourage spread of infectious disease in her country.
In the wake of Ddungu Resort Munyonyo concert over the weekend which has led to the charging of Nigerian singer Omah, Cindy insists the Nigerian star should have performed and encourage the spread.
Posting on her social media, Cindy said Coronavirus is real and finishing people. She advised people to wear mask and always sanitize.
“Nobody has the right to come to my country and encourage the spread of corona nomatter who you think you are. People are dying everyday and if you have any respect for human life you will stay home or sanitize and wear a mask in a crowded place. May all your curses and evil spells return to you in Jesus name Amen #CoronaIsReal

“Bebe Cool doesn’t work for Ministry of Health or Police, stop spreading lies” – Zuena Kirema
Singer Bebe Cool’s wife Zuena Kirema has called on people to stop spreading lies in the wake of charges against Nigerian singer Omah Lay in Kampala.
Zuena has said her hubby singer has nothing to do with the arrest and charging of the Nigerian star who was the guest performer at an ‘illegal’ show at Ddungu Resort Munyonyo.

She said her hubby doesn’t work with the Ministry of Health or Uganda Police and that he shouldn’t be involved into all this.
Omah was arrested after he performed at a concert deemed illegal and contravenes the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to stop the spread of COVID-19. Music concerts remain banned in Uganda due to the deadly pandemic.

“Can you people stop spreading lies, does Bebe Cool work in the ministry of health or the police,” Zuena tweeted.The Nigerian trio of Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi and 6 other Ugandans have been charged in Makindye Court with negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act. The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond, were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.

Nigerian musician Omah arrested over an illegal show in Kampala
Police has arrested three people in connection to the unauthorised concert that was held last night at Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.
Those arrested are Ivan Ddungu, the manager of the place where the concert was held, Omah Lay, the Nigerian musician who was the guest performer at the event and Prim Kasana, Events Manager, who contracted Omah Lay to sing.
Police is also looking for the area Officer in Charge of Police Station for failure to detect the criminal acts that took place in his area of jurisdiction.

It is alleged that the organizers of the show disguised that it as lunch and dinner event, but later on at night they started inviting artistes to perform.
The suspects are detained at Katwe Police Station and are being charged with doing acts that are likely to cause the spread of infectious disease, which is Coronavirus.
On the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, the president directed that music concerts should be stopped and the directives still stands.
Police has condemned the act of some selfish individuals, who are bent on violating the directives on CONVID-19 to make money and risks the lives of many Ugandans.
“We appeal to members of the public to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19 and follow all the SOPs,” SP Patrick Onyango PRO KMP.
