NWSC Jinja area launches WACOCO Clubs

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Jinja area has launched the Water Community Communication Clubs (WACOCO). WACOCO is composed of leaders; at local council level, religious leaders, opinion leaders and institutions of learning.

In Jinja and Iganga, 15 Water Community Communication clubs were established and are operating in Jinja (10) and Iganga (5). WACOCO club was established to encourage participation, empowerment and equal service delivery while emphasizing accountability, transparency and integrity amongst stakeholders.

The General Manager, Mr. Charles Okuonzi welcomed the WACOCO members together with a team from head office led by DMD-Technical Services Eng. Johnson Amayo. He expressed his appreciation for the leaps and bounds in service delivery made possible by the WACOCO initiative. He used this opportunity to reveal some of the plans the corporation has for the greater Busoga region which include: setting up over 250 PSPs, laying pipes for the people of Budondo among others.
