NWSC Cracks down on meter vandalism

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Hoima area office working with detectives from the Uganda Police Force arrested a suspect in the act of stealing 5 water meters.

Upon further questioning, the suspect lead them to a scrap dealer in Hoima town. Here, we recovered 10’s of meters.

It is believed that the scrap dealers smelt the meters and use the precious coating on them for fabrication works.

We urge the public to report any suspected meter theft cases at the nearest Police Station or contact the nearest NWSC Office.
