Kitgum District Woman MP Hon. Lilian Aber yesterday , Wednesday, 17th December 2025, commissioned 165 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) for Kitgum District.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) Officials, Kitgum district RDC Mr. Ssegawa Jimmy Ebil, Vice Chairperson LC V Hon. Lapyem Emmanuel, the CAO, alongside other district leaders and technocrats.
Kitgum District is among the few districts selected to benefit from this Ministry of Health programme, with each of the 83 parishes allocated two well-trained and fully capacitated CHEWs to strengthen community health service delivery.
Hon. Lillian Aber is currently the Minister of State for Refugees Relief and Disaster Preparedness and also doubles as the NRM party flagbearer for Kitgum District Woman seat 2026.
