Nameere who was contesting as an independent candidate stepped down for the NRM flag bearer after President Yoweri Museveni engaged Nameere into a discussion after he had received reports that if Nameere stepped down and added her support to the flag bearer, NRM would trounce DP. Nameere agreed with the President and she supported the flag bearer all the way to the elections.

However, some voters went on to vote Nameere and she polled 140 voters plus 77 invalid voted where voters ticked in her face.

Unfortunately the NRM Flag bearer, Abdallah Nkoyoyo lost to the incumbent DP’s Namayanja and sources say it is because the area is catholic dominated yet Nkoyoyo is a Muslim and Namayanja was the only catholic left in the race after Nameere stepped down.

Ironically there were five candidates vying for the position and Nameere got more votes than one of them, Nsamba Moses who polled 80 votes yet Justine was out of the race. This should be a good sign for Justine to give 2021 a special thought.
