Fresh Dairy hands over Sports Kits to Team Uganda Participating in the 2017 Brookside Regional Secondary School Games

Brookside Limited injected 1.2 Billion UGX into the Games

Fresh Dairy has today handed over branded sports kits worth 90 million UGX to all participating Ugandan Secondary Schools in the 2017 Regional Brookside East Africa Secondary School Games. The Fresh Dairy sports kit which contains Jerseys, T-shirts, shorts and socks   is meant to give Team Uganda a national identity and visibility all throughout the game. The Samurai kits that are imported from the UK will be a good motivation to the players before the championships kicks off.

The 2017 regional Brookside East Africa Secondary School games are scheduled to run from 16th – 27th August 2017 at St. Joseph Layibi College, Pace Stadium, Kaunda grounds and Sacred Heart Gulu.

The Brookside East Africa Secondary School Games, sponsored by Brookside Limited involve the winning schools  and runners of various  National  School Games organized at selected secondary schools within the East African region that comprises Kenya, Secondary Schools Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan. Each of these six East African countries will hold their own national secondary schools’ championships in various sports disciplines, out of which the top two teams in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions will qualify to compete at the regional Brookside games.

Speaking during the handover event Vincent Omoth, Marketing Manager Fresh Dairy said, ‘Fresh Dairy has a rich heritage in Uganda of 50 years and believes that supporting sports and education initiatives such as the Brookside East Africa games which develop the complete individual in terms of Sports, Academia and Health is a good opportunity for students to also interact and learn about the different cultures of East Africa.’

Mr. Omoth added that through supporting such initiatives, Fresh Dairy is able to use youth to play while at the same time use sports to identify and nurture their talents. He encouraged the Ugandan teams to take advantage of their home ground and ensure that they are among the talented basket ballers and hockey players who stand to win the Brookside Strathmore sports university scholarship for six of the best basketball and hockey players at Strathmore University .Omoth encourage students to consume healthy refreshments like milk and dairy products to enable them excel in sports

The Brookside East Africa games are held in different countries every year and the venue is never the same such that students can travel to different parts of East Africa and also learn more about their geography and the different cultures across East Africa. Brookside has presence in the entire East African region, and we will continue to support all activities geared towards the improvement of the livelihood of people in East Africa.
