The Minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze has defended the appointment of William Gabula, the Busoga king as an ambassador.
The Minister said he doesn’t understand political elites who he said are only good at selling wrong and illogical narratives about work. He made the reaction on his social media wall.
“I entirely agree with the president on this appointment and I totally don’t understand how some of our political elite-the supposedly knowledgeable class are good at selling wrong and illogical narratives about life..So if kings can’t work because they will be subjecting themselves to their subjects that means they shouldn’t also go to school. Likewise in school they will be taught by their subjects. They shouldn’t go to places of worship because they will be ministered to by their subjects…. Very very narrow arguments. Cultural protocols are cultural protocols…. Social and spiritual life also has got its own protocols. Let’s not confuse the two. Glad that educated people like you Isaac from Busoga can appreciate this and tell off the ever posturing pessimists. Congrats to His Highness over his deserving appointment,” Frank Tumwebaze said.
