

Experts call upon Ugandans to adopt technology in their day to day activities during the National ICT Job Fair
Experts have called upon on Ugandans to adopt technology into their day to day lives especially businesses as the world keeps on advancing. The remarks were made at the National ICT Job Fair 2024 held at the Nakawa Innovation Hub.
This event was organized by Huawei Technologies (Uganda ) company Limited in conjunction with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. The panelists while speaking under the theme of ‘Shaping Uganda’s Digital Future, Bridging Skills, Innovation and Opportunity’ said that the world is evolving at a higher technological speed but Uganda seems to be left behind at the moment.
Emmanuel Emodek a panelist who is also the co-founder and director of ChapChao Financial Services stated that Ugandans should look at technology as a means of employment not just entertainment. Furthermore, Mr. Emodek said that Ugandans ought to trust technological advancement the same way they treated the COVID-19 pandemic. His remarks were in light of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is sweeping across the globe at a high speed.
Additionally, he also implored the government to reduce the high costs of acquiring technology because most businesses are choking due to these costs.
