Deputy Speaker meets coffee farmers, agrees to form sub county based coffee cooperatives
Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Ruhinda North MP in Mitooma District Rt Hon. Thomas Taye bwa together with coffee farmers in his constituency have agreed to form sub county based coffee cooperatives which will be the basis for Ruhinda North coffee growers cooperative Union.
He thanked officials from NARO, OWC, Mitooma District commercial Officer and Coffee Champion Abbas Mutumba for the training.
“I am happy with the coffee farmers in my Constituency, Ruhinda North who have completed a training on Coffee Value Chain Development. I selected key coffee farmers from each Sub County for the training at my Country home in Bitereko,” Rt.Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said.
In related development, the Deputy Speaker while at Mitooma District headquarters officiated at the training and sensitization of Political Leaders in the District on the Parish Development Model program.
He encouraged them to spread the gospel of financial discipline among the population in the area.
He also asked Parish Development Model Secretariat to re-organize trainings for Parish Chiefs who are not well conversant with the program guidelines.
