Deputy Speaker calls for total participation towards fallen Speaker’s burial
Newly elected Deputy Speaker of 11th Parliament Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has called on all Members of Parliament and staff of Parliament to participate in all planned activities in the honor of fallen former Speaker of 11th Parliament Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah.
The body of the fallen giant of Acholi will arrive in the country this Friday at 2:00pm.
Hon. Thomas Tayebwa called of all MPs to attend Tuesday’s session to mourn the late. Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah is the first Ugandan Speaker to die in office. He will be laid to rest on Friday 8th April in Omoro District.
“As we wait for the body of the Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah to arrive tomorrow at 2 p.m., I urge all Honourable Members of Parliament and staff to participate in all the planned activities in his honor. His body will spend a night at Parliament on Tuesday. I request all of us to be there as we bid farewell to our hero,” Hon. Thomas Tayebwa posted.
“I joined the NRM Parliamentary caucus to pay tribute to our dear hero late Rt.Hon Jacob Oulanyah at his home in Muyenga. The late loved ‘Yo Leng’ Song and we had to honor him with it,” Hon.Thomas Tayebwa tweeted.
