Deacons Uganda Invests UGX 5.2 Billion On Expansion Drive
Following 5 years of successfully running the Mr. Price brand in Uganda, Deacons Uganda has invested a further UGX5.2 billion into two new stores – the Mr. Price & Mr. Price Home combo store and Bossini store, both located at the prestigious Acacia Mall.

This brings to three, the number of stores operated by Deacons Uganda, a subsidiary of Deacons Kenya, one of East Africa’s largest fashion retailers. Deacons has since April 2009 been operating in Uganda through their Mr. Price store, located at Oasis Mall.
“The growth of our brands in this market has revealed that there is more demand for brands that offer fashionable and pocket friendly merchandise to Ugandans. That is why we are extending Mr Price’s footprint with this 2nd store as well as adding to the portfolio; Mr Price Home and Bossini,” said Mr Muchiri Wahome, Deacons Chief Executive Officer.
Muchiri, said that the expansion is in line with Deacon’s vision of being the most trusted provider of desired lifestyle in Africa.
“Our vision is to be the most trusted provider of desired lifestyle in Africa,” he said at the official opening ceremony.
The extension in Uganda puts the total number of outlets owned by Deacons in the East African region at twenty nine (29).

As part of its launch, Deacons had a fashion show dubbed: Mr. Price && Bossini “Feel Good Collection 2015” that took place at their stores at Acacia Mall yesterday. The fashion show featured Uganda’s top stylists who competed in a fashion show, showcased the latest collection from Bossini and Mr Price. Brenda Nambi emerged the winner on the night and walked away with Shs4m.
A panel of judges knowledgeable and experienced in Uganda’s fashion industry led by Sylvia Owori chose the winners. A total of Shs 6.5 million in prize-money was up for grabs.
