The Banyarwanda community in Uganda under their umbrella Council For Abavandimwe are set to hold a meeting this Saturday 11th January at Speke Hotel on Speke Road, Kampala.
Since it’s launch way back, the Council for Abavandimwe has been at the forefront of the struggle against the persecution, victimization, segregation, and violation of the citizenship rights of Banyarwanda by some elements within immigration and NIRA.

In their struggle and activism, they have positively engaged with all structures and organs of Government including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the Human Rights Commission, the Office of the IGG, the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Speaker/Parliament of Uganda, the leader of opposition, including the President of Uganda, and are happy to inform you, that the President fully understood and paid keen interest to the violation of their citizenship rights, and even discussed this matter in cabinet, and this has been confirmed by the Prime Minister of Uganda.

Mr. Frank Gashumba who is at the forefront of Council For Abavandimwe said they are pleased to share some good news from President Yoweri Museveni with you this Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Speke Hotel Kampala at 2:00 p.m.
“If you were denied a passport or national ID, if your ID was deactivated by NIRA, or if your ID was confiscated at a border point, please be there,” Frank Gashumba said.
