Anite, Turkish Ambassador discuss investment opportunities before inspecting Turkish investors factories in Namanve
The Minister of State for Finance in charge of Investment Hon. Anite Evelyn has met with Turkish Ambassador to Uganda H.E Fikret Kerem ALP who paid a courtesy visit on her.
The Minister said they had a wonderful conversation and exchanged ideas of interest concerning Uganda and Turkey especially strengthening investment opportunities between the two countries.
The ambassador and Sena Foundation, a Turkish NGO also pledged to refurbish Kauthar mosque the largest mosque in West Nile which was recently destroyed by a heavy storm.
The mosque was constructed by the Turkish government through Sena foundation with the help of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Hon. Anite together with H.E Fikret Kerem inspected a couple of factories set up by Turkish investors in Namanve which include Level Energy Solutions, a large-sized high-tech enterprise group that specializes in producing 100% fully Ugandan manufactured transformers.
Anite said in the last couple of years, Level Energy Solutions has provided first class products for major key projects such as; Kakira Sugar, Tororo cement, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company. “Through this, hundreds of jobs have been created for Ugandan youths,” she said.
“I implore Turkish investors and manufacturers in Uganda that are creating jobs for Ugandans and transferring vital skills to engineering students and graduates to keep doing so.
Engineering graduates play a key role in sustaining necessary technical capabilities in developing countries.
During my inspection, I also visited Potenza Lubricants, an automobile and industrial lubricants manufacturing company which produces; engine oil,hydraulic oil and other first-fill greases. Through this hundreds of decent jobs are provided for qualified Ugandans.
Both companies are also further committed to prevention of pollution in all forms from their operations and will comply to all applicable legal requirements.
Such investments are helping to reduce Uganda’s import bill on the products they manufacture and boost export earning not forgetting the many decent jobs they are creating,” Anite said.
