2026 Updates: NUP’s Emuk Benjamen set to be nominated on Thursday as he kicks off quest for Bukedea County MP seat in the 12th Parliament

Media personality and National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Bukedea County MP seat 2026 Hon. Emuk Benjamen is set to be nominated on Thursday October 23rd as he vies to represent his people in the 12th Parliament.

He will be nominated at Bukedea District Electoral Commission offices and thereafter host a nomination rally at Bukedea Township.

He told this website that he has a people-first-Constituency agenda, where he has pledged to; Establish local development partnerships with private sector leaders for sustainable impact.
· Improve youth employment by facilitating skills training and entrepreneurship hubs
· Push for better service delivery in health and education sectors through public-private collaborations.
· Create an open-door leadership culture, where citizens can engage directly with their representative.
· Restore pride and confidence in Bukedea’s voice in Parliament.

“I have an opportunity and quench and above all, a desire to Bridge Bukedea to Opportunity, I strongly believe that the same doors I opened in the corporate world, working with organizations you witnessed me do including; TotalEnergies, Airtel Uganda, Mastercard Foundation, aBi, UDB, and others, can still be unlocked for Bukedea. Honestly, with those partnerships, I aim to bring or make better; Infrastructure development, Entrepreneurship support, Youth and women empowerment programs, Agricultural innovation, and improved health and education systems,” Hon. Emuk said.

He also added that he needs his people to engage/ enjoy First-Hand Experience with Policy Gaps. “As a journalist covering education, politics, and people-centered stories, I have consistently highlighted policy failures. Running for MP gives me a platform to move from observation to action, advocating for meaningful legislation that benefits Bukedea and Uganda at large,” he added.

“I am also a stronger believer of a People-First Leadership Philosophy. It’s true, I am not a career politician but I am a community-rooted servant-leader. I believe Bukedea doesn’t need more politics, it needs practical results and real service,” Emuk revealed.
