Senior Media personality and political show host, Mr. Charles Odongtho, is set to contest for East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) seat 2026-2027. With over 15 years of experience in the media industry, here is how Odongtho has gained experience and influenced things.
Apart from establishing and managing some of the best and biggest political TV talkshows in Uganda for over 15 years, Mr. Charles spent most of his active journalism career reporting in Parliament and covering the President, where he gained a lot of political and current affairs experience and deep networks through working closely with all the major political players Uganda has today.
He has worked with New Vision, Nation Media Group at NTV where he handled the then popular Newsnight show with another powerful journalist Andrew Mwenda, at NBS where he became more famous when he started an award winning show “the Frontline”, alongside powerful talkers Norbert Mao, new MP elect Ofwono Opondo and a female Government critic and former minister Miria Matembe; at UBC where he started yet another big and influential talkshow called “Behind the Headlines”. The show on UBC was the one that made the giant from Nebbi in West Nile more respected because Charles managed to bring back millions of viewers to the national broadcaster that many Ugandans were not watching.

Apart from working on all the big Ugandan TVs, he has also been training journalists across Uganda and teaching them on how to do professional media work.
Being a trained lawyer from Makerere University and journalist, on top of a Masters degree in management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), he is a very informed journalist and the type of quality regional MP Uganda needs to represent her interests at EALA.
