Hon. Sarah Itungu Masereka Baleke, the Kasese District Woman MP elect on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ticket is one definition of a true and complete leader. She is expected to be one of the top performers in the 12th Parliament.

Hon. Sarah was born in Kilembe and raised in Kamaiba, Kasese Municipality. Sarah is a fifth born girl of Mr Yofesi Masereka Mutanywana Richman and Betty Florence Masereka who reside in Kamaiba, Karusandara and Kampala.
She is a Muhiira by clan, her ancestral home is Kyambogho with ancestral roots in Rukoki- Buhaghura- Bughalistsya, Bugoye-Kisamba, Karusandara SC- Kanamba and a niece of the Banyomire family, Baswagha in Kyondo- Musasa- Kyalhumba.

She is married to Mr Edson Baleke of the Basu clan Box Mwenda- Kinyabihiro from Kibisire Ihandiro and together they have three biological children, they reside in Nyamambuka MLTC, Kasese Town and Najjera when in Kampala.

Hon. Sarah Itungu has humanitarian work in the communities too. She is the founder of Give a Pad, Keep a Girl in School menstrual health programme which has been instrumental in helping girl child at school in Kasese District.
She is also the founder of Save a Mother Health Camps, reaching 44 sub counties under ‘The Mountain Girl Initiative’.

She has led the campaign to plant trees (30,000+ trees across Rwenzori Region)
She regularly champions for agro-tourism, cultural preservation and youth empowerment
Annual participant in Rwenzori Tourism and Marathon initiatives.
