

‘Water supply to be interrupted this Tuesday, keep enough’ – NWSC
National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) management has called on the general to store enough water as there will be supply interruptions this Tuesday 25th October from 8:00am to 6:00am. This is because UMEME will be undertaking major upgrades at Ggaba Substation. Below is the statement from the water body;
“The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation wishes to inform its esteemed customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply tomorrow 25th October 2016, to enable UMEME undertake major upgrade works at Ggaba substation and enable us serve you better. As a result, all plants at Ggaba water works will be switched off from 8am-6pm affecting supply to the entire Kampala water service area. Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly. All inconveniences caused are highly regretted.

Meanwhile the works are ongoing for the new 4.5km DN200 transmission main from Ndejje via Kanaaba to Kigo. The project when completed project will improve water supply to Kanaaba, Kigo near Mirembe villas, Serena Hotel, Kigo prisons and Mutungo.
