The Minister of Water and Environment Hon Sam Cheptoris in partnership with National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) yesterday commissioned more water points to serve the people of Dadamu Sub County in the Arua air field area. In addition, NWSC is implementing a water and sanitation project to serve over 600,000 people in Arua.
The Minister in addition commissioned extra water points to serve the people in Onduparaka, Arua town on the same day.
NWSC is working on various projects to improve access to safe after in Arua town in a campaign dubbed ‘Water for all’.
In related development, NWSC has warned against theft of water by tampering with or bypassing water meters. The water body says that it not only costs National Water and Sewerage Corporation billions of shillings a year, but also imposes costs on each and every paying customer. “Water theft is a serious offense and can result in significant fines as well as criminal prosecution by NWSC so stop water and theft and legalise your connection,” NWSC.
