Masaka: Prior to her engagement with the Masaka Business Community, the URA Commissioner General, Doris Akol has first reached out to Okoa Refuge.

Okoa Refuge is entirely donor funded by good Samaritans from a church in Europe.

They specifically take care of rescued babies under an orphanage home, support disabled people and sponsor children under three centers.

The organization currently takes care of 87 orphans under the orphanage home and supports 157 vulnerable people under three centres in Kayirikiti, Nkoni and Katogo.

Registered for PAYE, the Taxpayer currently employs 57 staff directly and pays monthly tax.

Inspired by what they have been able to accomplish in Masaka in such a short time , URA has contributed a donation of 140 blankets to their cause.

“It’s an honour to see first hand the good things that you are doing rescuing these children. If it wasn’t for Okoa these children could have died. At URA one of the things that gives us passion is the fact that the work that we do has an impact on the lives of Ugandans. I’m glad that Okoa is centered around God. You are teaching these children the value of knowing God. Their past won’t dictate their future. We hope these blankets will remind these children that they’re loved. We love you and your future is bright” , said CG while handing over the donation.
