Uganda Revenue Authority nets fraudsters

Some of the fraudsters arrested

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) through security has netted fraudsters who conning people at customs entries. The suspects were arrested over forgery of URA and financial institution stamps and customs entries. Commissioner Customs, Dicksons Kateshumbwa said over 100 forged entries were recovered.

He appealed to the public to desist from involvement in fraudulent activities. URA, he warned, is now vigilant to purge loopholes of revenue loss.

Meanwhile the Tax body yesterday launched the Payway services. People can now pay taxes via Payway machines countrywide, easing and compliance.
