Lady luck finally smiled for Annet Nuwamanya, a former student at Advanced Citizen High School who had waited for so long to join the University but lacked tuition. She is the lucky winner of a plot of land in the ongoing promotion dubbed ‘Tubbaale Ne Bell.’
Having sat out the whole of last year, Nuwamanya seems to have finally found herself a shorter route to tuition. She plans to sell off the plot of land so as to venture into business as well as tuition to advance her education.
“I did not believe my eyes when I first read the text that confirmed I was indeed the lucky winner. Till now, I can hardly believe I am the proud owner of land in Kampala,” says an ecstatic Nuwamanya.
Nuwamanya whose dream is to become a journalist told our reporter that she bought a Tusker Malt at a neighbourhood bar in Gayaza.
“I had heard about the promotion on radio and so when I went out with my friends, I decided to try out my luck. I thus bought a Tusker Malt, checked under the crown and sent the code to 6050. A few minutes later, I received a message saying I had won myself a plot of land. My friends were more surprised than I was,” Nuwamanya said.
“I did not think much out of it till last week when I received a call from Uganda Breweries giving me the “big news” that I had to come and claim my prize. It is still shocking that at my age, I own land, something my elder siblings do not have yet.”
Speaking while handing over prizes to winners of the promotion at the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association (UMA) Show grounds, Brian Sseruyigo, the Customer Marketing Manager Bell Lager said that the campaign is designed to reward the company’s loyal customers.
“It is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to give back to society and help fight poverty,” Sseruyigo stated.
The UGX 3 billion Tubbaale promo that was launched on July 26, 2016 has so far seen many winners walk away with plots of land, motorcycles and flat screen TVS. The grand finale of the promotion is scheduled to be held during the upcoming KCCA festival on Sunday October 2, 2016 and will see 10 lucky winners walk away with brand new vans.
