Sjava makes history at the 2018 International BET Awards Ceremony

The world burst with excitement and congratulations flooded in as Terrance Jenkins broke the news that Sjava is taking home a BET Award under the Viewer’s Choice: Best International Act category. This is marked as one of the biggest and most honourable accolades, not only for himself but for Africa as a whole.

Dressed in traditional Zulu attire, Sjava took the shine at the International BET Awards show red carpet hosted at the Microsoft Theatre (Staples Centre) in Los Angeles. The KZN born global superstar shared that he is so happy and he has no words to say. He continued to add that he would really like to thank Ambitiouz Entertainment and award winning producer Rufffor this opportunity.

Not only did Sjava earn his first BET Award but he has been labelled the first South African hip hop/pop artist to bring home this much celebrated statue.  Always ready to take on originality and authenticity to create a perfect formula to go against the grain, Sjava has proved that being robustly true to your roots can lead you to be the best in Africa.

This number 1 Billboard charting artist released his debut album Isina Muva in 2017 which has since then kept him at the top of people’s minds brought him an immense amount of success. Isina Muva has proven itself by being synonymous with topping charts from going Gold, to releasing a Gold Deluxe version of the album and garnering multiple awards.

This is a global moment South Africa will never forget.
