Former television personality Sheilah Gashumba was yesterday praised on World Press Freedom for brave stand to accuse NTV Uganda of paying presenters peanuts.
City lawyer Eron Kiiza heaped praises on her during Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) celebrations yesterday. He said she set the pace and praised for her stand.
Many activists have come out to support her call for Televisions to increase pay to their presenters.
‘Team Sheila Gashumba’ has been created and T-shirts printed with words ‘Team Sheila Gashumba’.
“A privileged girl tweets about poor pay and raises important points. Her age mates band together by roasting her. Some of whom by the way haven’t had a single job,” Kevin Omukungu tweeted.
