Shakira slammed by politician for ‘promoting lesbianism,’ ‘moral decay’ in music video with Rihanna
Colombia’s Marco Fidel Ramirez has started a petition to have the country’s National Television Authority ban Shakira’s music video, saying it promotes immorality.
The Public Option party councilor, from the capital of Bogota, said the video “damages the moral character of the youth of Bogota, Colombia and Latin America.”
He dubbed Shakira, who appears alongside Bajan beauty Rihanna, as a reference point for a society in moral decay.
The pop star pairing have proven quite a hit, with more than 62 million YouTube views.
