From political mobilisation and economic empowerment to agricultural development. Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo of Office of the National Chairman has now cast the net wider to include pushing for reforms in the agricultural sector especially in the input distribution and support.

During the Official opening of Marriott Hotel, in the heart of the city, President Yoweri Museveni recognized Mr Ngabirano Ponsiano, the proprietor of the hotel for his transformation journey from Matooke farmer to grocery shop owner and then to advanced entrepreneur. The President called upon Ugandans to master global markets.

Global market require robust supply chains which are often disrupted by changing weather conditions which makes it the most constant challenges.

Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo

This week, ONC cut us some sluck through a mega press conference where Hajjat Namyalo informed politicians, planners and policy makers to review Uganda’s agricultural input and distribution frameworks in order to address the rising cost and limited accessibility of quality agricultural inputs.

Hajjat called for farmer- responsive and regional specific approach that takes into account Uganda’s different agro- ecological zones, suitable crops, planting seasons and actual needs of the farmers.

ONC also called for stronger coordination between input support and Parish development model financing, noting that productive financing which must be supported by affordable inputs, extension services and access to markets if homesteads are to successfully transition from substance production into the money economy.

In light of the above, I thank Hajjat Namyalo for being responsive to the needs of the majority of Ugandans who rely on agricultural for livelihood.

The 2024 census reaffirms that agriculture remains the primary source of income and substance for most Ugandans, but also backbone of the National development employing 70 percent of the population.

By pushing for such popular reforms, ONC continues to position themselves as the most vibrant organization that understand the heartbeat of President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of transforming Ugandans from substance to money economy.
