

President M7 commissions Mbale-Tororo Road, Kagina Praises contractor Dott Services
President Museveni commissioned the 48km Tororo-Mbale road in Tororo town on Friday. The president appealed to the public to protect road assets like the Road signs and Road reserves because these guide road users to avoid accidents.

“Avoid overloading, it damages roads and reduces their lifespan leading to increased costs of maintenance,”-he said. The president also advised the area residents to make use of the road by engaging themselves in income generating activities like farming and so many others. [adrotate banner=”3”] The President while addressing a rally on wealth creation campaign at the Boma Grounds, Tororo encouraged the family households to create their own wealth by practicing agricultural activities like piggery, coffee planting, poultry to mention but a few.
He called on them to vote for NRM in the coming general elections. The road project which was done by Dott Services Limited cost the Uganda government Shs 63.8billion.
The Executive Director of Uganda National Roads Authority Ms. Allen Kagina said that the national roads network is 21,000km out of which 4000km have been paved (tarmac).
Adding that in the next 5 years, the paved roads network will increase to 6000km. She praised the contractor, Dott Services for the good work done on 48km road.

“We are happy for the work done and we feel it was done well within our agreed terms, we would like to appreciate and thank Dott Services for their effort in making this road,” Allen Kagina said.
