Kawempe: The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has today participated in general cleaning exercise with the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) to conduct at Kawempe Specialised National Referral Hospital.

The exercise is part of an effort to promote the spirit of voluntarism in the country’s corporate culture.

PRAU President Sarah Kagingo said it is the duty of PR professionals to provide insights on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for their respective organisations.

She lauded the UPDF team which was led by their spokesman Brig. Richard Karemire for honoring the invitation and for accepting to partner with PRAU.

Karemire commended PRAU for the initiative and advised them to have similar exercises done upcountry too.

“We need to move this out of Kampala so that we shouldn’t be seen as people only working with in Kampala. We can have upcountry like in Karamoja, Arua, Kisoro and many other areas across the country. This will give us more mileage and seriousness.

Dr Lawrence Kazibwe appreciated the effort the two teams put in to see that hospital is clean and thanked for them for timely intervention.
