Panic as MTN MoKash service crashes

MTN Uganda Mobile Money users are in panic state after the saving section of the Mobile Money crashed over five days ago.

MoKash is a service where Mobile Money users keep their savings.

But for the last couple of days, the service is unavailable and Management of the telecom giant has not released any official statement regarding the service’s failure. The customers are now worried if their savings are really safe.

“Our apologies for the service is currently unavailable for use however, all is being done to restore normalcy. Kindly bear with us in the interim,” An MTN customer care staff said.

Today MTN sent a message to a few customers regarding the failure of the service.

“ Y’ello. Please note that MoKash services are currently unavailable. We are working to restore services and will advise once restored. We regret the inconvenience,” MTN said in an Sms sent to some of its customers.

However the telecom giant has not communicated the service failure through its major communication channels.

“ We are worried about our money, these guys are silent. Is it a safe?,” a concerned customer said.

It is not yet clear whether the system was hacked or it crashed on its own!!
