NWSC embarks on several countrywide connections
With less than a week into 2018, National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has already showed that it’s the best service provider in the country. The national water body has embarked on a number of extensions to ensure that more Ugandans get connected to the national grid within this year.
This morning, NWSC staff delivered 4km of water mains in Mubende for the new Kyakatebe-Kakungube water supply project. Over 7 villages with hundreds of people will enjoy safe clean water once the project is completed soon.
Also earlier in the week, Karamoja-Moroto area team completed the laying and connection of 2km from Kololo to Longalom Primary school in Matany Town Council. This will see NWSC connect over 20 households in this location and other areas in Karamoja region.
In related development, NWSC teams surveyed route maps for the new water mains extensions to Bukoyi, Maresi, Nambale, Buwatsala and the surrounding areas. This will improve access to safe water in Manafwa district.
Earlier this week, NWSC Bushenyi and the local leadership visited Igara SS where the corporation is planning to erect a 160,000 litre reservoir. This is part of the Butare Mashonga water supply project that will supply Igara,Kyamuhunga, Bitooma and the surrounding areas.
