On Monday last week, it marked another critical milestone for Uganda as we launched the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS) 2019-2023.
The launch of the National Action Plan for Health Security demonstrates our global leadership in prevention, detection and response to health emergencies. Uganda has made significant progress over the past 10 years towards Health Security and we were the 1st African country to host the Global Health Security Agenda Ministerial meeting in 2017.
As we speak health security,I want to applaud and appreciate the gallant sons & daughters of this soil, health workers,UPDF & Police forces for manning our border points of entry for 1 year & 2 weeks now ensuring the population is protected from the Ebola outbreak ravaging
This action plan is envisioned as a strategy to urgently address the significant gaps existing between all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in respect to preparedness, real time surveillance and emergency response, in addressing diseases spread from animals to humans.
“I appreciate all our partners for their technical and financial assistance and stellar leadership towards the launch of the NAPHS 2019-2023,” Jane Aceng.
