Ministry of Health announces 28 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health Uganda has announced confirmation of 28 new cases of COVID-19 caused by Coronavirus.

The Ministry said today 27th May 2020, 28 new COVID-19 cases confirmed bringing number in the country 281.

The 28 case are; 21 are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu while 7 cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers.
The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test.

7 positive foreign truck drivers (4 Tanzanians,1 Eritrean,1 Congolese and 1 Burundian) were handed over to their country of origin

Total Recoveries: 69

Samples from Points of Entry tested today:1,456

Samples from community and contacts:548

Samples tested today:2,004
