Yesterday Tuesday, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party EC Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi declared H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as a duly nominated Presidential Candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the forthcoming General Elections.
On the same day, Gen. Museveni was also nominated a candidate for the position of the Party National Chairperson. “I, Dr. Odoi Tanga on behalf of NRM Electoral Commission do hereby declare that Y.K Museveni is duly nominated for the position of the Presidential Candidate”, the EC Chairman said.
Mr. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s name was nominated by Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda who is a Historical Member of the Party and a Prime Minister. The NRM National Youth Chairperson Hajji Nasur Gadafi and Ms. Hellen Seku a resident of Kireka Ward in Kira Town Council seconded the nomination. The President was in company of the First Lady, Maama Janet Museveni.
