In partnership with Sanyuka TV, MTN Uganda has launched a one-of-a-kind competition that will see the ultimate winner earn a contract with Next Media Services as a commentator for their StarTimes Uganda Premier League broadcasts.
The new campaign, dubbed “Samba Samba ne MTN – Tabbira Owangule,” is a continuation of the just-concluded “Samba Samba Ne MTN Football Quiz.”
Sanyuka TV General Manager, also Next Media Services Chief Strategy Officer, Joseph Kigozi said, “We were happy with the reception the football quiz got from our viewers, complete with how much they have trusted us for reliable information on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.”
“This new challenge is an addition to those. We are looking for an all-around sports commentator, who we expect to be able to do pitchside analysis, interviews, game analysis, and the key, commentary. We shall conduct this over four weeks,” an enthusiastic Kigozi added.
Participants can earn their opportunity by sending a 2-minute or less video clip of themselves commentating a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game through WhatsApp or Facebook. A team of judges will then select the best videos, and those participants will then be invited to the station to take up the contest.

Following the economic implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, opportunities such as Sanyuka TV’s are big boosts to sports fans. On top of the campaigns, Sanyuka TV also airs repeats of the games that were broadcast during the season. The station, also known as the home of sport and entertainment, also airs select Bundesliga and Premier League games to bring the fans a complete football experience.
