Mobilisers of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), members of Uganda Federal Alliance (UFA) and supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kawempe North have defected to the camp of Independent candidate Hajjat Hanifah Karadi in the battle for Kawempe North MP seat 2025.
Voters in Kawempe North have said they are not voting parties this time but personality and Hajjat Hanifah Karadi tops among the over 9 contestants so far nominated.
More of the NRM team as well as those from the opposition NUP are supporting Hajjat Hanifah Karadi’s camp.
“We are all now behind Hajjat because she is very capable of solving our issues,” Bukenya a voter said.
“Your support is unique
People in Kawempe North this time are going to vote personality not party. As An NRM supporter, i am going to vote for you come 13th March 2025,” an NRM voter said.
Hajjat Hanifah Karadi was yesterday fully nominated as an independent candidate in the race to replace the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya. The voting is slated for 13th March 2025.
