Kampala Flyover project to start

Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has revealed that the Kampala Flyover construction and road upgrading project is set to start soon. This is according to the latest from UNRA. The project will cost $147m and below is how it will be worked out;

The Kampala Flyover Construction & Road Upgrading project: Let’s share the expected improvements the project will create.

  • The project will mitigate traffic congestion and facilitate urban transportation in the Kampala City as it will make mega improvements such as widening of existing junctions, walkways and drainage systems.
  • Other key works to include; construction of bridges, signalization of roundabouts, and underpass construction.
  • Lane improvements to include; Flyover between Africana junction to Kitgum house junction, flyover between Kitgum House junction to Mukwano road; Nsambya to Clock Tower, Jinja road before Africana Roundabout [Under Flyover].

Much as UNRA is the executing body, we shall collaborate with Kampala Capital City Authority [KCCA] in the construction process. Financing partner JICA intends to cover the cost of the construction for which an agreement has been signed.
